Stroke Specialist Dietitian | Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust

About this role

We are seeking an experienced Dietitian to lead the delivery and development of the dietetic service within the stroke service at Frimley Park Hospital. This role is 30 hours per week onsite.

The postholder will provide clinical leadership, ensuring high‑quality, evidence‑based care in close collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. The role will also lead onquality improvement (QI) and service development, using audit, data and QI methodologies to improve patient outcomes and service efficiency.

In addition, the postholder will haveline management responsibilityfor members of the stroke dietetic team, providing supervision, appraisal and professional support, and promoting a positive and supportive team culture.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Dietitian with strong leadership skills, experience in stroke care, and an interest in driving service improvement.

  • Key clinical area for autonomous clinical practice will be within stroke services, providing assessment and dietetic input for inpatients who are referred for nutrition support or enteral feeding.
  • Contribute to the operational plans that enhance service delivery, patient care and departmental efficiency.
  • Participate in the Trust’s Enteral Nutrition forum, sharing best practices, developing guidelines and promoting initiatives to improve patient nutrition and hydration.
  • Lead on complex oral and enteral feeding decisions and provide clinical supervision and mentorship to junior dietitians.
  • Leading on and contributing to quality improvement, audit or service development work.
  • Team lead and line management responsibilities.
  • To participate, as required and if appropriate, in extended services such as weekend working, 7-day working and extended shifts depending on the needs of the service.
