Role Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our supportive team in Oxford, Oxfordshire, providing high-quality, person-centred care to residents in a care home setting, utilising long-term care experience and skills in elderly care, dementia care, and disability support. This rewarding role offers a unique opportunity for someone who takes pride in delivering genuine, respectful, and dignified care, promoting residents' independence, and enhancing their overall wellbeing, while working in a calm and dignified environment, with a focus on social care, healthcare, and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
Your key responsibilities will include
Providing respectful, person-centred personal care to residents, including bathing, dressing, and grooming, while maintaining dignity and respect
Assisting with meals, medication, and daily routines to ensure a comfortable and dignified living experience, utilising care planning and risk assessment skills
Offering companionship and encouraging meaningful social and leisure activities, such as arts and crafts, exercise classes, and outdoor activities, to promote mental and physical health
Supporting mobility and promoting residents' independence and physical comfort, using transfer equipment and mobility aids
Maintaining a tidy, homely environment through light domestic tasks, including cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation
Providing emotional support and reassurance to create a stable and comforting atmosphere, using active listening and empathy skills
Required Skills & Experience
To succeed in this role, you should have
Previous care experience, particularly in personal support or companionship (not essential, full training available), including experience working with older adults, people with dementia, and individuals with disabilities
A patient, kind, and empathetic nature, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with residents, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals, including nurses, doctors, and therapists
Reliability and commitment to providing consistent, high-quality care, with a focus on continuous learning and professional development
