This is an exciting new opportunity to join a busy multi-disciplinary coastal and flood engineering team, managing flood and

erosion risk on the south coast.

Coastal Partners provides a Coastal Risk Management Service to Havant Borough Council, Portsmouth City Council, Gosport Borough

Council, Fareham Borough Council and Chichester District Council that reduces the risks to people, and the developed and natural

environment from flooding and coastal erosion. This area includes three major harbours of significant environmental importance

and over 246km of coastline.

What you’ll be doing

We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Client and Engineering Service. You will support our asset

management team to evolve our strategic approach to asset management, with experience, or interest in the following role:

Coastal Engineer/Coastal Project Engineer

We look after a significant number of coastal assets to manage flood and erosion risk to our communities. These differ widely in

terms of age and condition and include groynes, defence structures, public areas and navigation aids, all with differing

maintenance and investment needs.

We are seeking a project manager to evolve our strategic approach to our asset management delivery, to drive consistency and

efficiency across our Partner Authorities. Key responsibilities will include the planning and oversight of data collection in each

of our delivery partners, considering inventory and data collection standards and systems. The role will review and help to

develop optimised asset data approaches and systems, to provide us the evidence to make sound investment decisions and to manage

asset risk.

Alongside this, the role requires you to perform a project manager role for capital and revenue projects, delivering through our

Framework contractors and consultants. All our contracts are managed using NEC4, and experience of managing NEC Contracts is

desirable. This role also supports our wider Client and Engineering Service and may involve supervision of more junior team

members, supporting our asset management annual work and in the delivery of our Beach Management Plans.

You will need a degree in Civil Engineering, Water and Coastal Management or related discipline and applications are welcome from

experienced candidates, with relevant training provided to support your role. Experience in maintenance or GIS would be

advantageous. The initial salary is dependent on experience and qualifications.
