Youth Worker - Community Outreach & Crime Prevention

Full-Time | Permanent

£28,000 rising to £32,000

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Youth Worker to join our growing team in Slough, supporting disadvantaged young people and helping reduce youth-related crime and anti-social behaviour within the local community.

You will work with young people facing challenges such as school exclusion, gang influence, family difficulties, and exploitation, providing mentoring, guidance, and early intervention support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage and support vulnerable young people in community and outreach settings
  • Deliver targeted interventions focused on crime reduction and positive outcomes
  • Build trusting relationships through mentoring and youth engagement
  • Support young people into education, training, and employment opportunities
  • Liaise with partner agencies including schools, youth offending teams, and social services
  • Promote safeguarding and wellbeing at all times
  • Maintain professional records and progress reports

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience working with young people in a youth work or support setting
  • Strong understanding of issues affecting disadvantaged youth
  • Experience in crime reduction, diversion, or behavioural intervention work
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour positively and professionally
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one
