Are you a passionate educator who believes that emotional well-being is the foundation of academic success? We are seeking a dedicated Nurture Teacher to join a pioneering team at a brand-new, specialist secondary school catering to students with Autism (ASC) and associated social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.

This is a unique opportunity to be part of a growing school from the ground up, shaping the environment and curriculum for young people (ages 11-16) who require a more supportive, therapeutic approach to learning.

The Role

As a Nurture Teacher, you will move beyond traditional instruction to provide a holistic educational experience.

You will

Lead a Nurture Group

Create a safe, predictable, and stimulating classroom environment where students feel secure enough to learn.

Personalise Learning

Develop and deliver differentiated lesson plans tailored to individual EHC plans, ensuring every student makes progress at their own pace.

Collaborate

Work closely with a multi-disciplinary team to integrate therapeutic strategies into daily classroom life.

Empower Students

Use non-confrontational, trauma-informed strategies to help students manage their emotions and develop social communication skills.

What We Are Looking For

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

Essential.

SEND Experience

Proven experience working with students with ASC/SEMH is vital.

Resilience & Empathy

A genuine "nurture" mindset and the ability to stay calm under pressure.

Adaptability

The skill to pivot lessons based on the energy and needs of the classroom.
