Are you a passionate educator who believes that every child deserves a bespoke path to success? We have recently opened a brand-new SEND Secondary School dedicated to supporting young people (aged 11-16) with social communication, emotional regulation, and sensory processing needs.

As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Nurture Teacher who thrives in a non-confrontational, high-support environment and wants to be a founding member of a school community that truly puts the student first.

Why This Role is Different

We don't believe in "one size fits all." Our students follow a broad, exciting curriculum tailored to their specific passions and interests. You won't be doing this alone; you will work within a model of small class sizes and high levels of classroom support, backed by a supernumerary multi-disciplinary intervention team.

Your Impact

-

Create a Sanctuary for Learning

Deliver high-quality, nurture-based teaching for pupils with Autism and associated complex needs.

-

Innovate the Curriculum

Contribute to the development of a curriculum that balances academic progress with physical and social well-being.

-

Champion Progress

Set and monitor personalised targets, ensuring that every "small win" is celebrated and every EHCP goal is pursued with intent.

-

Collaborate

Work alongside therapists and specialists to provide a holistic support system for every child.

What You'll Bring

We are looking for a teacher who views "challenging behaviour" as a form of communication.

You should be

-

Resilient & Empathetic

Able to maintain a calm, non-confrontational approach in high-pressure moments.

-

Reflective

A practitioner who constantly analyses lesson outcomes to better meet student needs.

-

Knowledgeable

Familiar with current issues in the field of Autism and SEN pedagogy.

-

A Team Player

Ready to contribute to a multi-disciplinary approach to student care and education.

The Essentials

-

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) preferred (Welcome bonus applies to QTS holders).

-

Hours

40 hours per week (8:15 am start; finish times vary between 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm).

-

Flexibility

While based in Chaldon, you may occasionally support our satellite site in nearby Caterham.
