The School of Commercial, Creative and Professional Studies at Merton College is seeking a Lecturer to deliver outstanding quality teaching, learning, assessment and tutorial support to students, to maximise achievement and continuous improvement.
You’ll play a key role in supporting the development of the curriculum, with employer engagement, and learner skill development central. Acting as a Course Leader and Academic Tutor, you’ll actively contribute to the school community, identifying opportunities for employment and skills focused study for learners.
As our Lecturer, we’d like you to hold a degree (or equivalent) in IT, along with a recognised teaching qualification such as a PGCE. Our ideal candidate will have recent experience teaching IT within a Further Education college or school setting, and a proven track record of delivering BTEC programmes. A strong understanding of the current IT BTEC framework, including teaching, assessment and quality assurance processes, is essential.
You will be proficient in areas such as programming, data modelling, cybersecurity and web development. In addition, you will demonstrate advanced computer literacy and strong skills in using standard office software. The ability to work well under pressure and meet strict validating body deadlines is crucial.
