To develop, maintain, document, and perform tests for new and existing software developed in conjunction with the Product Development team and to ensure the high standard of software quality is maintained.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Testing software for errors and deviation from specification.
  • Design, develop, implement and document test scenarios.
  • Document test plans.
  • Use of Selenium web browser automation suite.
  • Writing and managing SOAP UI test scripts.
  • Building test scripts for automation.
  • Logging bugs (errors, faults and deviation from specification).
  • Working with the product team to improve user experience security and stability.
  • Make recommendations to improve Quality Assurance.

Training Provided

Firebrands sector leading Software Tester apprenticeship programme develops apprentices to ensure that software developed is fit for purpose and for use in business. On this programme, apprentices will learn how to conduct various testing activities across the software development lifecycle to ensure the software meets the business’ functional, security, performance, usability, and other relevant quality requirements.

  • Competent user of Microsoft 365 applications (Word, Excel etc)
