The Opportunity
Senior Cost Consulting in Oxford
Reporting directly to the Partner, you will be a key strategic member of the leadership team. Responsible for managing complex projects and leading junior staff. We are looking for an ambitious professional with a proven track record who is ready to take ownership and drive commercial excellence.
Your
Key Leadership Contributions Will Involve
Project Leadership & Ownership
Taking the lead on major, complex projects across varied sectors: commercial property, high-end residential, educational facilities, and mixed-use schemes, driving project success from inception to completion.
Client Relationship Management
Acting as the primary commercial point of contact for key clients, building and maintaining robust, long-term relationships to secure repeat business and elevate the firm's reputation.
Commercial Strategy & Risk
Providing expert, authoritative advice on pre-contract and post-contract cost control, with deep proficiency in various contract forms (e.g., JCT, NEC) and advanced risk management techniques.
Team & Talent Development
Managing, mentoring, and developing a team of junior and intermediate Quantity Surveyors, actively contributing to the firm's professional development and MRICS training program.
Business Development
Proactively supporting business development initiatives, contributing to tenders, bids, and fee proposals to fuel the practice’s continued growth.
Technical Excellence
Overseeing and signing off on critical documentation, including detailed cost reports, final account negotiations, and complex contract administration.
Candidate Profile
What We Need
You are a committed, Chartered professional with significant, demonstrable experience and a proven ability to lead and deliver within the consultancy sector.
A relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management is mandatory.
Full MRICS Chartership is a mandatory requirement for this senior role.
Circa 6-10 years of post-qualification experience gained within a professional quantity surveying (PQS) environment, with a strong emphasis on Cost Consultancy.
Proven experience in successfully managing project teams and mentoring junior staff.
A clear ambition to become a future leader of the practice and progress quickly to Associate Director level is essential.
Salary & Benefits Package for the Senior QS in Oxford
Remuneration : A premium base salary of £50,000 - £65,000 per annum, structured based on your experience and leadership value. Highly competitive and reflects the advanced technical and leadership skills required.
