Healthcare Assistant

About this role

You will be based in Gravesham Community Hospital, Gravesend as part of our community nursing team whoprovide care to people in their own homes or within a clinic setting.We empower our staff to work autonomously and with flexibility by providing them with state of the artnew tabletsfor them to be able to check in from home, write their notes up on the go and allow them to not be trapped in an office base, so they can really enjoy working in their chosen community background! As this is a community based role you will need tohave a UK driving licence and access to a car.

Main Responsibilities

Within this role you will

To assist in providing nursing care as delegated by the Senior Sister/Team Sister within patients homes. Tomaintain knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to deliver a quality service that is responsive to the changing needs of patients. To provide clerical and administrative support to the team as delegated by the Senior Sister/Teaam Sister. To undertake the technical aspects of nursing care e.g. Dressings, glucose monitoring etc. following a period of training and when deemed competent to do so. To implement evidence-based nursing care, within the patients home. To have the ability to work unsupervised, planning and organising tasks and home visits as delegated by the nurse in charge. Maintain accurate and legible patient records in line with professional and organisational requirements this includes electronic patient record system (CIS) and any paper records

Ideal Candidate

This is an opportunity to put your NVQ level 2/3 or the equivalent appropriate qualification/experience to great use. With strongcommunication and organisation skills, and a flexible approach will ensureyou deliver positive experiences to patients at every stage of theirhealthcare journey. In this role, you will need to be able to travel across the patch in a timely manner so a UK driving license is needed and access to a car. You will also need to be confident using IT systems and be able to demonstrate working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel.
