Are you a passionate and experienced chef ready to take the next step in your culinary career? We’re looking for an inspiring Senior Sous Chef to join our talented catering team at Churcher’s College Senior School and help deliver an exceptional food experience every day.

Working alongside the Executive Chef and Catering Management team, you’ll play a key role in leading a busy kitchen operation, creating fresh and innovative menus, and delivering outstanding hospitality services within a prestigious independent school environment.

What you'll do

  • Support the Executive Chef in leading the day-to-day kitchen operation
  • Deliver high-quality, fresh food and hospitality services to students, staff, and guests
  • Lead and motivate the kitchen brigade to maintain excellent food standards and service delivery
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, allergen, COSHH, and hygiene regulations
  • Assist with menu planning, stock control, ordering, and budget management
  • Support special events and hospitality functions
  • Coach, train, and develop team members to achieve their full potential
  • Take responsibility for the kitchen operation in the absence of the Executive Chef

What We’re Looking For- Previous experience in a Senior Sous Chef or similar leadership role

  • Experience working in a busy large scale, client-facing catering environment
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent organisational and communication abilities
  • A proactive and hands-on approach
  • Knowledge of allergen management and food safety compliance
  • NVQ Level 2/706-2 Chef qualification (or equivalent)
  • The ability to thrive under pressure while maintaining high standard
