Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) – Oxford, Oxfordshire
Permanent | Full Time | £30,000–£37,000 DOE
A well-established small animal veterinary practice in Oxford is seeking a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join the team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week, with a rota that includes 1:6 full weekends or 1:3 Saturday/Sunday shifts, as well as a fair share of on-call duties and bank holidays.
Located within easy walking distance of the vibrant Cowley Road in East Oxford, the practice offers a modern and supportive clinical environment equipped with advanced facilities, including regularly used laparoscopic equipment.
The successful Registered Veterinary Nurse will work alongside a dedicated clinical team comprising two full-time vets, one part-time vet, two RVNs, and a Client Care Assistant (CCA). The practice is committed to delivering exceptional patient and client care while maintaining the highest standards of clinical governance, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
The
RVN will be responsible for
- Delivering high-quality nursing care during consultations and surgical procedures
- Running nurse-led clinics and clinical appointments with autonomy and professionalism
- Supporting veterinary surgeons during diagnostic and surgical procedures
- Developing tailored treatment and care plans in collaboration with clients
- Working effectively as part of a supportive and collaborative clinical team
- Maintaining compliance with all practice protocols and RCVS standards
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be a qualified and RCVS-registered Veterinary Nurse with a strong commitment to clinical excellence and patient care. They will be a proactive team player with excellent communication skills and a passion for delivering outstanding veterinary nursing services.
