Ward Manager

About this role

We are looking for a Ward Manager / Nurse Manager to join our team inSittingbourne Memorial Hospital. This is a full-time position workingMonday to Friday 8am-4pm. You willeffectively lead a Community Hospital Nursing Team, taking responsibility for the management and professional accountability of the Team and its individual staff members and be responsible for the overall management of the inpatient wards ensuring the provision of holistic assessment, management, and evaluation of evidenced based nursing care to patients in the community hospital settings.

Main Responsibilities

Provide skilled, effective, and evidenced based nursing care to patients with complex care needs within the inpatient community hospital settings. Manage the day to day, ongoing delivery, and development of the Service within remit ensuring delivery of a service that is responsive and high quality. Take responsibility for ensuring that patient experiences of the Service are positive. Deliver effective communications with patients/carers to discuss sensitive and complex information. Act as a role model in order to provide effective leadership, ensuring competent and safe practice. Plan and organise patient care according to individual needs and evaluate care according to the evidence provided by the Team.

Ideal Candidate

You will be qualified to a degree level and hold a currentNMC registration, ideally having 3 years experience in a variety of settings including hospital and community.Evidence of continuing professional education and training at degree level andTeaching / Assessing NMC approved qualification. You should be willing to become an independent supplementary prescriber (V300) registered with the NMC whilst co-ordinating and managing a team.
