Our client, a leading specialist SEN school in Winchester, Hampshire, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to join their dynamic team. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting the educational and personal development of students with a range of special educational needs, ensuring they receive the highest quality of care and support.

As a Full-time SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with our client's team of experienced teachers, therapists, and support staff to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, providing one-to-one and small group support, helping students with personal care and daily living skills, and assisting in the delivery of engaging and enriching educational activities.

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with special educational needs. You should have a solid understanding of the unique needs and challenges faced by this population, as well as the patience, empathy, and creativity to tailor your support to each student's individual requirements.

In addition to your strong interpersonal and communication skills, you should be able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to develop and implement customised learning plans. Experience with assistive technologies and a range of teaching strategies would be a distinct advantage.

This position offers a competitive salary, ranging from £13.96 to £14.66 per hour, and the opportunity to work in a vibrant and supportive environment.   • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with a range of special educational needs, including learning difficulties, physical disabilities, and autism spectrum disorders.
  • Assist students with personal care and daily living skills, such as toileting, feeding, and dressing.
  • Support the delivery of engaging and enriching educational activities, including lessons, therapies, and extracurricular programmes.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to develop and implement customised learning plans for each student.
  • Use a variety of teaching strategies and assistive technologies to support the individual needs of students.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student progress and support.
  • Attend team meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to continuously enhance your skills and knowledge.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment for all students.
  • Relevant qualification in education, childcare, or a related field, such as a Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs, preferably in a school or educational setting.
  • A strong understanding of the unique needs and challenges faced by students with a range of special educational needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Creativity, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting the personal and educational development of students with special educational needs.
  • Proficiency in the use of assistive technologies and a range of teaching strategies.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and a willingness to learn and grow in the role.
