About this role
Job Advert
Rainham School for Girls are delighted to announce an opportunity for a Lead Practitioner of Maths to join our enthusiastic,
dedicated Maths Faculty and be part of our ambitious school which is one of the top performing schools in the region. At Rainham
School for Girls we are committed to our core school values of collaboration, aspiration, respect and empowerment. We believe that
respect, challenge and support nurture strong relationships at RSG, where collaboration is key. We have high aspirations for our
school community and are proud of the opportunities students have to innovate, lead and feel empowered. A highlight is the number
of students who are inspired to enter into the teaching profession and then return to work at the school as qualified teaching
staff. We have a large, successful Maths Faculty with a combination of experienced staff and those newer to the profession. It is
led by a Director of maths, a Head of Faculty and Key Stage Leads who work together to provide support and strategic direction.
The department has a commitment to foster a love of learning and there is a strong sense of teamwork in the Faculty which offers
not just support but opportunities for progression too. Our Maths department is well-resourced, innovative and ensures teaching
and learning is at the heart of what they do. Within the maths block, each member of staff has their own classroom which have
recently had new interactive boards installed. These interactive boards are used extensively by the team for the purpose of
modelling, live marking and driving student engagement. The curriculum is collaboratively planned with resources for every lesson
however our teachers have the autonomy to adapt or create their own lessons. We teach the EDEXCEL specification at GCSE and at A
Level we teach three courses
Maths, Economics and Finance. White rose maths and GL assessments are utilised to support the
planning, delivery and assessment of key stage 3 lessons.
For our teachers, we passionately believe in collaborative working and actively promote school to school support. This includes
accessing support from our strong Teaching School Alliance who offer a range of high quality professional development
opportunities for staff at all levels. We also have one hour a week built into the school day for CPD to fully capitalise on the
power of collaboration and sharing of good practice. Career progression is fully encouraged by the school; we are part of one of
the biggest Multi-Academy chains in the South East of England, TKAT (The Kemnal Academies Trust), so progression can also be Trust
wide. We reserve the right to close the vacancy early should we receive a significant number of applications.

TKAT is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this
commitment. Offers of employment will be subject to the full safer recruitment process, including an enhanced disclosure and
