NO PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED – FULL TRAINING PROVIDED

Onsite in the office in Woking, Surrey (with the option to work in the community) – Expenses will be paid

WORKING HOURS

Minimum of 3 hours per week during office hours. Volunteering is conducted within core business hours 9am-5pm. Minimum 12-month commitment following completion of vetting and training

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new volunteering opportunity for a Volunteer Support Worker to support a domestic abuse intervention project focused on reducing the number of child and adult victims through practical and emotional support, mentoring and participant engagement.

As a Volunteer Support Worker you will help participants set personal goals, attend planned office appointments and support outreach work within the local community.

The Volunteer Support Worker role offers specialist training, paid expenses, supervision and valuable experience within the criminal justice and safeguarding sector.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• Good verbal and written communication skills with a compassionate and professional approach
• IT skills are required as there is an element of administration involved in this role
• As a successful candidate you must understand the need for reliability, value punctuality and have good communication skills
• Able to commit to a minimum of 3 hours per week and a 12-month volunteering commitment
• Comfortable working remotely and onsite within approved premises in Newcastle
