Community Podiatrist

About this role

Assessment and Diagnosis

Conducting reflective assessments, diagnosing, and treating conditions of the foot, ankle, and related structures to enhance mobility, reduce pain, and maintain tissue viability for patients across

Oxfordshire Primary Care Management

Managing the ongoing primary care of patients eligible for NHS podiatry, including those with 'at risk' foot health status, toenail pathology, and those requiring wound care and orthoses

Caseload Management

Independently managing a caseload of patients, ensuring effective communication and liaison with other healthcare professionals, and referring patients for further care as needed

Team Collaboration

Working within a podiatry team and developing professional links across care pathways, as well as participating in audits and service development projects

Training and Education

Supporting the training of junior staff, including apprentices and students, and undertaking training and education for a range of healthcare professionals and service users

Clinical Skills Maintenance

Maintaining high-quality clinical skills and ensuring continuing professional development in line with local and national guidelines

Patient Care

Providing care in various settings, including patients' homes, and ensuring adherence to departmental, Trust, and HCPC objectives, policies, standards, and guidelines. These duties ensure that the podiatrist provides high-quality care and contributes to the overall effectiveness of the Community Podiatry Service.
