We are seeking a dedicated and experienced childcare Manager to oversee Wrap Around Care services based in Drayton/Cosham, Portsmouth. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating after-school activities, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children.
This role offers an opportunity to lead a team, develop programmes, and make a positive impact on children's development and wellbeing. The ideal applicant will possess strong organisational skills, childcare experience, and the ability to communicate effectively in English.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage the Wrap Around Care team to deliver high-quality childcare services in accordance with organisational policies and standards.
Plan, organise, and oversee daily activities, ensuring they are fun, educational, and suitable for children of various ages.
Maintain a safe environment by adhering to health and safety regulations and conducting regular risk assessments.
Build positive relationships with children, parents, and staff to foster a supportive community atmosphere.
Coordinate with schools in Drayton and Cosham to ensure smooth transition of children between school and care settings.
Manage administrative tasks including attendance records, activity planning, and communication with parents.
Support children's individual needs through personalised care plans when necessary.
Assist with organising special events or outings as part of the programme.
Qualifications
Qualified in childcare, teaching or similar roles within a childcare setting.
Fluency in English is mandatory.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Excellent communication skills to liaise confidently with children, parents, colleagues, and external partners.
A recognised childcare qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or above in Childcare) is required and complemented by relevant experience.
