We are seeking a Maintenance Plumber to carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), corrective and reactive maintenance, and repair works across a range of mechanical building systems.

The role will involve working in accordance with relevant codes, regulations, manufacturer guidance, and company policies to ensure all mechanical plant and equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably.

Job Description

We are looking for a conscientious and detail-focused individual with a strong facilities management background who takes pride in delivering a high-quality service.

The successful candidate will demonstrate ownership of their work, collaborate effectively with colleagues and clients, and actively contribute to service improvement while maintaining high safety and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out scheduled inspections, PPMs, corrective maintenance, repairs, testing, and fault-finding on mechanical systems in line with codes and manufacturer instructions

Observe mechanical systems in operation to identify faults and determine root causes of failure

Dismantle equipment, replace defective components, and inspect parts for calibration and specification compliance

Test, commission, and calibrate mechanical systems using appropriate test and measuring equipment

Plan work activities by determining methods, materials, and resources required to complete tasks effectively

Complete daily, weekly, and periodic tasks as scheduled, ensuring service levels are met or exceeded

Monitor and control contractors on behalf of the client, ensuring workmanship and standards are maintained

Accurately complete maintenance records, work orders, and administrative documentation within required timescales

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

Air Conditioning qualifications (e.g. F-Gas, City & Guilds Air Handling) or

Plumbing qualifications (NVQs or City & Guilds) or

Mechanical Engineering Certificates

Ideally from a Facilities Management background with a clear understanding of the importance of PPMs

Experience working on a range of mechanical systems, including plumbing and air conditioning

Experience working in large plant rooms

Strong awareness of health and safety and compliance within building operations

Ability to manage own workload, prioritise tasks, and understand urgency

High attention to detail and commitment to quality service delivery
