Main Duties and Responsibilities
Support clinicians in the delivery of high-quality patient care within the urology outpatient settingProvide compassionate, professional, and dignified care to all patientsPerform male and female catheterisation (training can be provided if required)Undertake venesection and cannulation where competent to do soChaperone during examinations and procedures as requiredReceive and manage telephone referrals from GPs, Emergency Departments, community teams, and patients and document accurately.Liaise with community nursing teams and complete referrals where appropriateArrange and coordinate ongoing clinical supply orders for patientsEnsure clinic rooms are appropriately prepared and stockedEscalate concerns appropriately and work within own level of competenceWork both independently and as part of the wider multidisciplinary teamDevelop autonomous working practices once deemed competent and appropriately trained. The successful candidate will
Be enthusiastic, caring, and motivatedHave excellent interpersonal and communication skillsDemonstrate a calm, professional, and empathetic bedside mannerBe proactive and willing to learn new skillsThrive in a busy clinical environmentWork well both independently and within a teamHave good organisational and time management skillsBe confident communicating with patients and healthcare professionals via telephone and face-to-face interactions Desirable Skills and ExperiencePrevious experience working in an acute hospital settingMale and/or female catheterisation experienceVenesection and cannulation skillsExperience within outpatient, acute, or urology servicesKnowledge of clinical documentation systems Training and support will be provided for the right candidate.
