The Performance and Insight team are currently recruiting for a Performance Analyst to support the Adult Social Care team. The role of Performance Analyst is to work with the service to understand their processes and analyse the data to ensure that we are meeting the Council's statutory and operational responsibilities. We are looking for someone that has a high level of technical knowledge in the field of data analysis and is passionate about giving the data real meaning to ensure we are delivering on our responsibilities.
In this role, your work will influence decision making within the service, using your data analysis skills to bring the data to life. The role is varied, and you'll need to be able to switch between projects, work independently and meet timescales accordingly. The Opportunity
In this role you will collect, maintain, manipulate and present data and information to make recommendations and inform decisions to improve the service. You will determine appropriate tools depending on the data you are analysing and at what stage in the process the information is being reviewed. You will have analysis and interpretation skills to enable you to deliver on providing recommendations.
Being able to communicate complicated information effectively to a wide range of audiences is essential. You will also need to support colleagues in the service to understand dashboards, tools or reports that you'll provide them with to ensure they get the most from the information.
About you
Some of the key skills, experience and knowledge required to be successful in the role include
- Advanced analytical skills to include some or all of the following software/languages: SQL, Excel, VBA, PowerBI, Tableau, R.
- Demonstratable experience of organising and handling large amounts of complex data, undertaking complex statistical analysis and then producing high quality reports to inform service decision making.
- Ability to work with service teams (and wider partners) to enable you to establish the needs of the service and therefore the analysis and reporting that is required to look for improvements.
- Advisory, negotiation and persuasion skills to encourage service teams to adopt a particular course of action based on the data you've provided, enabling them to understand why.
- Excellent communication and data visualisation skills enabling you to present analysis and findings in a clear, concise way to a variety of audiences and that promotes understanding.
- Experience and the confidence to build credibility when dealing with stakeholders at all levels within the organisation and partners.
- Experience of implementing new processes or changes to existing ones.
