General Science Teacher – Part-time, long-term temporary role starting ASAP until May half term (Mondays and Tuesdays)

Duties as General Science Teacher

  • Teach General Science on a part-time basis, working Mondays and Tuesdays only
  • Deliver engaging and well‑planned Science lessons across relevant secondary year groups
  • Support pupils’ understanding of key scientific concepts through clear instruction
  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet a range of learning needs and abilities
  • Maintain consistent behaviour expectations and positive classroom routines
  • Assess pupil progress and provide constructive verbal feedback
  • Work collaboratively with the Science department to ensure continuity of learning
  • Uphold safeguarding expectations and prioritise pupil welfare

Ideal General Science Teacher

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching secondary Science
  • Confident delivering Science across KS3 and/or KS4
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Able to engage and motivate learners of differing abilities
  • Reliable and committed to consistent part‑time availability
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Adaptable and organised teaching approach
  • Dedicated to safeguarding and promoting pupil well‑being
