About this role
This role is essential to support, develop and improve all aspects of the Trust's Homecare services including a wide range of clinical specialties across all our sites.
The post holder will be fundamental in the leading the our local relationship for all elements of pharmacy Homecare with our EPIC integrated care system team and to work collaboratively with our King's College and Lewisham & Greenwich counterparts for a South East London Homecare strategy.
- To deliver on our responsibilities to ensure cost-effective and appropriate prescribing of homecare medicines
- To ensure that appropriate clinical and governance arrangements are in place for all medicines supplied via homecare as set out in the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) standards for homecare services.
- To link in with the regional homecare lead and assist with regionally led initiatives related to Homecare
- To liaise with NHSE Clinical Commissioning Pharmacist / Medicines Procurement & Supply Chain Specialist and relevant members of the Pharmacy Management team in the delivery of operational aspects of homecare services.
- To liaise with the Associate Director of Pharmacy Operations / Medicines Procurement & Supply Chain Specialist to develop Homecare services via the Trust Outpatient provider
- To work with the Outpatients service provider leads on opening and maintenance of new and established Homecare services

- To be responsible for implementing systems for and managing the provision of all Trust homecare services, ensuring that national standards and governance arrangements are in place for all medicines supplied via homecare.
- To lead and develop centralisation of homecare services across the Trust.
- Work with senior clinical pharmacists and outpatient staff and other Pharmacy staff to identify, plan, and develop new opportunities for homecare services.
- To provide specialist advice on medicines and processes associated with homecare medicines management to patients, carers, and homecare contractors.
- To understand the implications and importance of Commissioning pathways and of high-cost and other rechargeable drugs - to be able to engage other staff in supporting the provision of information to the Trust Contracts Department and Commissioners.
- To ensure operational processes are followed for specific commissioning requirements related to reimbursement of individual medicines.
- To support the strategic development and planning of drug expenditure reporting.
