A well-resourced and highly supportive SEN school in Hillingdon is seeking a compassionate and committed Support Worker to join their post-16 provision immediately. This is a full-time role working with young adults with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, PMLD, and complex learning and physical needs.

The school is a specialist setting with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality education and care for students with diverse needs. The Role

You will work closely with teaching staff and therapists to support students aged 16+ in both classroom and practical settings. The role involves providing tailored support to help students develop communication, social, and independent living skills.

Key Responsibilities

Provide 1

1 and small group support to students with additional needs

Assist with the delivery of personalised learning and life skills programmes

Support students with communication, behaviour, and emotional regulation

Assist with personal care where required, including feeding and mobility support

Help create a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment

Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff

Encourage independence and participation in daily activities

Follow safeguarding procedures and contribute to student wellbeing

Requirements

Enhanced DBS certificate

Experience working with individuals with additional needs (ASD, ADHD, PMLD, complex needs) – essential

Experience working with young adults (post-16) – highly desirable

A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Ability to support personal care needs where required

A proactive and flexible attitude
