We are currently recruiting an experienced Electrician to work for our client based in Greater London.

Job Role Overview

Southern Housing is seeking a qualified and experienced Electrician to deliver a high-quality, resident-focused repairs and maintenance service. The role involves carrying out electrical work across occupied and void properties, ensuring homes remain safe, compliant, and well maintained.

The successful candidate will work both independently and as part of a team, managing their workload efficiently while aiming for first-time fixes and excellent customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities of Electrician

Carry out electrical repairs, maintenance, inspections, testing, and surveys in line with current regulations and safety standards

Diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently to minimise repeat visits

Ensure all work meets agreed response times and quality standards

Accurately complete work orders, reports, and documentation using mobile systems

Participate in emergency call-out services on a rota basis

Communicate professionally with residents, including vulnerable individuals

Support and mentor colleagues when required

Maintain tools, equipment, stock, and company vehicle responsibly

Promote and adhere to health & safety, compliance, equality, diversity, and company values

Working hours of Electrician

40 hours per week

Requirements of Electrician

NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent) with AM2 / AM2E

Inspection & Testing qualification

Full UK driving licence – Van provided

Proven experience in electrical maintenance or installation, ideally within housing or a similar environment

Strong knowledge of building regulations, and health & safety legislation

Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively

Willingness to participate in out-of-hours and emergency call-out rotas

Flexibility to work evenings and weekends when required
