Key Responsibilities - ASC Lead Teacher (Autism Specialist)

As an ASC Lead Teacher, you will

  • Lead teaching and learning for pupils with ASC / ASD
  • Deliver highly differentiated lessons aligned with EHCP targets
  • Develop and implement effective autism-specific teaching strategies
  • Support and lead whole-school behaviour systems and interventions
  • Work closely with SEN Teaching Assistants, families, and external agencies
  • Monitor pupil progress and contribute to EHCP reviews
  • Support staff development and best practice in ASC teaching
  • Contribute to wider school improvement as part of the leadership team

Requirements - ASC Lead Teacher (SEN Leadership Role)

To be successful in this ASC Lead Teacher job in East London, you will have

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential
  • Strong experience working with ASC / ASD pupils
  • Previous SEN leadership or middle leadership experience (preferred)
  • Excellent understanding of behaviour management in SEN settings
  • Knowledge of EHCPs and autism-informed teaching strategies
  • Ability to lead and support staff effectively
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain)
  • Right to work in the UK
