Our client, a reputable government organisation, is hiring for a dedicated Administrative Officer to join their team in Darlington. This role is vital in ensuring the smooth operation of courts and tribunals, providing excellent customer service, and supporting case progression through efficient administrative processes.

What you'll be doing

* Preparing papers, files, and court documents for hearings and meetings

* Managing records on in-house systems and data input

* Handling post, booking meeting rooms, and supporting training activities

* Drafting correspondence, minutes, reports, and submissions

* Clerking civil and family courts, tribunals, and hearings, ensuring all materials are prepared and up to date

* Assisting court users, scheduling, serving documents, and executing warrants

* Managing counter enquiries via face-to-face, written, or telephone contact

* Processing casework such as court orders, claims, fines, and legal aid documentation

* Checking and verifying documents, records, and accounts for accuracy and compliance

* Collecting, assembling, and interpreting information for reports and statistical analysis

* Communicating effectively with judiciary, court staff, external agencies, and the public

* Supporting team meetings, problem-solving, and contributing to small projects

What you'll bring

* Minimum of 5 GCSE passes (A-C) or NVQ Business Administration Level II or equivalent experience

* Strong computer skills suitable for administrative tasks

* Excellent organisational and communication skills

* Ability to work flexibly within a team and adapt to changing priorities

* A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement

* Experience in customer service and handling enquiries
