We are working with a specialist SEN provision in the West Drayton area to recruit a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join their expanding team.

The school supports pupils with Autism, severe learning difficulties, and complex communication needs within a calm, therapeutic, and highly individualised learning environment.

Set within a spacious, green campus, the provision benefits from sensory rooms, therapy spaces, and extensive outdoor learning areas. The team is collaborative, supportive, and firmly child-centred, with a shared commitment to pupil wellbeing and progress.

  • Delivering small group and one-to-one learning sessions
  • Leading lessons and activities under teacher direction
  • Supporting pupils with ASC and complex needs using structured SEN approaches
  • Using tools such as visual timetables, sensory strategies, and augmentative communication systems
  • Supporting pupils with regulation, communication, and engagement in learning
  • Working closely with teachers, therapists, and wider support staff to meet EHCP outcomes
  • Contributing to planning, assessment, and classroom organisation
  • Hold HLTA status or a Level 4 qualification (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong experience supporting pupils with SEN, particularly ASC or complex needs
  • Confident in leading learning activities and supporting behaviour in a calm, consistent manner
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Team Teach or similar behaviour management training
  • Experience using PECS, Makaton, or AAC systems
  • Understanding of safeguarding within specialist settings
