Our client, a highly regarded primary school in the heart of Tower Hamlets, Greater London, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Full-time EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant to join their talented team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our youngest and most vulnerable learners.

As a Full-time EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of children with special educational needs within our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) setting. Working closely with our experienced teaching staff, you will assist in delivering engaging and inclusive lesson plans, tailoring your approach to accommodate the unique needs of each child in your care.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to

  • Providing one-to-one or small group support to students with special educational needs, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential
  • Collaborating with teachers to adapt lesson plans and resources to ensure they are accessible and engaging for students with diverse learning styles and needs
  • Monitoring and assessing students' progress, documenting their achievements and areas for development, and communicating this information to the teaching team
  • Offering pastoral care and emotional support to students, helping them to build confidence, regulate their behaviour, and develop essential life skills
  • Participating in multidisciplinary meetings and liaising with parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure a holistic approach to each student's development
  • Maintaining a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment that promotes the wellbeing and inclusion of all students

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a range of skills and experience, including

  • A recognised teaching assistant qualification or equivalent, with a strong understanding of EYFS and SEN best practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach, with the flexibility to adjust your teaching style to meet the unique needs of each student
  • A genuine passion for supporting the holistic development of young children, particularly those with special educational needs
  • A commitment to inclusive and equitable education, and a desire to champion the rights and needs of all learners
