L/SL (Teaching) in Medical Education and Assessment

About this role

Teaching & Student Support 1. Design and deliver teaching sessions that integrate clinical assessment practices into the curriculum, particularly in-days in Phase 2. 2. Provide academic support to students, including assessment preparation and remediation sessions throughout the curriculum working with element / module leads. Assessment Design and Delivery 3. Develop and quality assure assessment materials including SBAMCQ items and OSCE stations aligned to MLA and PARA content, in collaboration with the MBChB Assessment Lead, Phase leads and Programme leads. 4. Contribute to assessment blueprinting, standard setting, examiner training, and post-assessment review processes. 5. Facilitate use of national shared banks (e.g., Medical Schools Council Assessment Alliance) and manage integration of systems such as MSC Assessment Bank, risr / assess, Examwrite and Blackboard. 6. Support the delivery of assessments through set-up, invigilation, and quality assurance of examinations. Support assessment delivery in identifying appropriate clinical examiners for OSCEs and manage communications with examiners and clinical partners concerning TCMS assessment activities. 7. Working with module leads evaluate and enhance formative workplace-based assessments and student portfolios and assist in training clinical educators in the use of formative assessment and effective feedback as required. Engagement With Clinical Partners 8. In association with Year and Phase Leads deliver workshops across local NHS Trusts, GP practices, and community partners to build assessment literacy, develop and peer-review clinical assessment items. 9. Develop innovative strategies that ensure clinical partners contribution towards assessment development are recognised and rewarded through Continuous Professional Development. Quality Enhancement 10. Working with the Quality Lead, Course Leads and Phase Leads to support quality management processes for assessment, including compliance with regulatory standards. 11. Support the assessment data manager and contribute to the psychometric and academic review of student data. Scholarly Activity 12. Engage in scholarship relevant to medical assessments and contribute to School-wide curriculum innovation. 13. Maintain personal and professional development to meet the changing demands of the job; participate in appropriate training activities and encourage and support staff in their development and training.
