Receptionist Duties opening/closing the premises and checking heating, lighting and ventilation restoring telephone services answering the telephone dealing with incoming and outgoing mail dealing with requests for prescriptions receiving and directing patients on arrival answering general enquiries explaining surgery procedure making new and follow up appointments filing and extracting records and any documents relating to these receiving requests and recording requests for home visits receiving and relaying messages for attached staff tidying doctors rooms and waiting room after surgery ensuring that reception area is left tidy for use by incoming colleagues passing on information about any unresolved or urgent matters entering patient details on the computer registering new patients typing and secretarial support to the doctors other office duties such as scanning, shredding etc
