Other information about the client
Lives with his wife who is currently his main carer. . Family live close by and support. He has lots of interests in transport, engineering, history both local and on a greater scale, nature, geography, science and maths. He loves music and singing and was a keen entertainer and misses this very much. His short term memory is poor but he has a great amount of knowledge to share and enjoys doing this. He is not someone that will join groups as he struggles to be understood and potentially he may well be on the autistic spectrum and does not read the room well. He also has masked his anxiety for years with disciplined and almost obsessive exercise and activity and now he is older and far less able it has increased his depression and overall frustration with life. He would not be happy to do painting or jigsaws however if he could go out to a local area and share his knowledge of the history of that area or watch you tube videos or documentaries and talk about the information in those he is very stimulated. He can be quite loud, firstly as he always been hard of hearing (has hearing aids) but he is not aggressive. At the core he is very emotional, moreso and his dementia progresses.
