About this role

Lead IR35 policy and governance across Defra and its Arm’s Length Bodies, ensuring guidance, procedures, and documentation remain accurate, up to date, and compliant with legislation and HMRC requirements.

Provide expert IR35 advice and support to business areas, including commercial and recruitment teams, HR, project managers, and senior stakeholders.

Oversee IR35 status assessments, ensuring consistent use of compliant tools (such as CEST) and robust supporting evidence.

Monitor IR35 compliance across contingent labour, consultancy, professional services, and managed service arrangements.

Design and deliver training, briefings, and guidance to improve understanding of IR35 obligations across the organisation.
