Are you interested in joining an innovative, high profile and dynamic dietetic team of over 50 staff? We are seeking a self-motivated Band 6 Specialist Bariatric Dietitian to join the wider Gastroenterology Dietetic Team at UCLH.
UCLH provides medical and surgical obesity services for adults with obesity in accordance with the NICE guidelines. Medical treatment includes intensive weight-loss management programme coupled with pharmacotherapy. Surgical procedures include gastric bypass, sleeve gastrectomy and complex revision surgery. The medical and surgical components of the services are interlinked with cross-flow of patients between medical and surgical components. The existing Bariatric/Obesity Services multidisciplinary team is comprised of Bariatric Surgeons (3 Consultants and 1 Associate Specialist), Bariatric Physicians (2 Consultants), 1 Psychologist, 2 Clinical Nurse Specialists and 2.8WTE Dietitians (including this post).
The Specialist Bariatric Dietitians provide a clinical nutrition service and dietetics expertise to in-patients and out-patients attending the Medical and Surgical Obesity Services at UCLH and are integral members of the Obesity Services Multidisciplinary Team. The Dietitians work together to provide combined dietetic support for both the medical and surgical services.
You should have strong clinical and leadership skills, excellent negotiation skills, ability to work effectively within teams and be able to manage your time efficiently in a constantly changing environment. The GI Division has a strong research ethos and an interest in research and audit is also strongly desirable.
