Are you looking to launch your career and gain hands-on experience across a diverse range of adult inpatient care settings? Barts Health NHS Trust has an exciting opportunity for a permanent Band 5 Speech and Language Therapistto join our friendly and supportive team.

The rotation consists of

  • Inpatient stroke
  • Inpatient acute (including intensive care unit, if required)

This post holder will develop knowledge and skills in the assessment, management and rehabilitation of patients withcommunication and/ or swallowing difficulties, as a result of a stroke and/ or othermedical conditions.

We areseekinga compassionate, dynamic and highly motivated Speech and Language Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player, able to work effectively with colleagues across multidisciplinary settings, and demonstrate strong accountability in their practice.

This post will provide a newly qualified

SLT with regular 1

1 supervision, joint clinical sessions, in-house training and peer supervision. There are also excellent CPD opportunities within the SLT service, and as part of the wider multi-disciplinary team.

In this role, you will independently manage and prioritise your caseload, delivering high-quality, evidence-based assessment and intervention in line with professional competencies.

You will work closely within a multidisciplinary team and contribute to holistic, patient-centred care. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as you will provide education and support to patients, families, and colleagues.

The successful candidate will demonstrate accountability, maintain accurate clinical records in line with professional standards, and actively engage in supervision and continuous professional development. You will also contribute to service improvement, training, and the wider development of the team.
