St Bartholomew’s Hospital is the oldest working hospital in the country, celebrating its 900 year anniversary in 2023. It is located in Smithfield in the heart of the City of London. The hospital is a centre of excellence for heart and cancer care, housing the largest cardiac centre in Europe and covering a population of 6 million.

Due to the expansion of our service operating 7 days between the hours of 08:00 to 20:00, we are looking for Band 7 HCPC registered MRI Radiographers to join our growing MRI team with in the general imaging department at St Bartholomew’s Hospital.

Key working relationships will be with the Imaging head of radiography, MRI Lead Radiographer, Radiologists, MRI & rotational radiographers, imaging assistants and other clinical and professional staff.

The post-holder will participate in the effective and safe running of the MRI department and will be able to perform a wide range of specialist MRI scans in the extended hours 7-day service. The post holder will offer supervision/line management to imaging assistants, students, and visitors to the MRI department. The post holder will ensure patient flow in the trust by actively managing the flow of outpatients and in-patients. Furthermore, they will be expected to engage in prompt protocolling, checking of conditional devices, liaison with radiologists and other clinicians to actively unblock barriers to scanning. The post holder will be key in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and experience and will be enabled to deal with and diffuse potential complaints to the patient and carers' satisfaction.

It is essential to have good organisational skills. The successful candidate will need to be motivated and be able to demonstrate how they motivate their team.
