About this role
East Dene Court is a residential service providing support to 8 individuals on the autism spectrum and associated conditions. ESPA are looking to recruit a Senior Support Worker. Applicants will need to be experienced in delivering services of excellence to autistic adults who may have associated conditions. You must have a mature, confident and compassionate attitude towards working with people who may challenge. Knowledge and experience of positive behavioural approaches is essential as is the ability to model best practice in all aspects of your work when responding to challenging behaviour. Experience of shift leading and managing a team would be beneficial, as is a proactive approach to all matters relating to the delivery of an efficient and responsive service. The successful candidate should have a minimum of two years’ experience working in a Support Worker role and preferably some experience within a senior/supervisory role.
You must have a mature and compassionate attitude, be an excellent role model and be willing to work in a supervisory capacity with the support team.
You will have a defined role within the team, supporting the Registered Manager in managerial tasks.
You will need to have experience of working as part of a team and within protocols and guidelines which are known to be effective for each person.
The successful candidate will be expected to be part of a senior on call rota for the service
You will be required to deputise for the Registered Manager in their absence, and you will be part of a senior team providing senior on call cover.
It is important that you possess good verbal, written and IT skills as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
You will need to be flexible to suit the needs of the people you will be supporting.
A qualification relevant to the role, or the willingness to work towards achieving one would be necessary.
It will be necessary for you to demonstrate or to develop a sound knowledge of the role of CQC within our services and how to prepare for and participate in inspections.
