Your new company

Your new company is a UK and Irish Based MGA who provides specialist underwriting solutions across various commercial and specialty insurance lines. They combine the agility of an independent MGA with the scale and strength of a leading insurance business. Your new company focusses on delivering high-quality services and tailored solutions to brokers and their clients. Due to growth within their specialty division, a role for a Senior Underwriter has arisen.

Your new role

Your new role as a Senior Underwriter within their Specialty division means that you will be underwriting new and renewal Specialty lines for a variety of classes to include Professional Indemnity, Liability and Property classes, therefore combining technical expertise with commercial judgement. A key element of your role will be developing and strengthening broker relationships to expand portfolios and influence regional growth. Some of your other responsibilities will include negotiating and structuring profitable, sustainable business, acting as a technical reference and providing guidance to colleagues alongside analysing market trends, portfolio performance and emerging risks. You will have autonomy to make decisions, drive growth and actively contribute to the evolution of the team.

What you'll need to succeed

In order to succeed in this role, you must have proven success in Underwriting one or more specialty lines, such as Professional Indemnity, Liability and or Commercial Property. Alongside this, you should have success in broker relationship management and business development, be a confident trader with commercial awareness and negotiation skills, as well as enjoying a collaborative work environment as a proactive and resilient individual. It is desired that you will hold relevant insurance qualifications such as DIP CII and ACII. This role would suit a candidate that has an entrepreneurial way of thinking, possesses strategic insight and has a passion for delivering excellent underwriting outcomes.
