We are currently seeking an enthusiastic , self motivated nurse with experience and knowledge of Safeguarding and Domestic Abuse to work within the Safeguarding Team . The role will involve supporting staff who work with both adults and children within our Acute services.
The post holder will be responsible for providing specialist advice on managing adult Safeguarding matters within the organisation; working in partnership with Adult Social Care; the co-ordination of adult safeguarding procedures and reporting to the Trust Named Professional for Safeguarding Adults.
The post holder will implement procedures and guidance that effectively supports Trust staff to recognise Domestic Abuse (DA) by empowering them to understand and embed the implications of DA and its effects on individuals and families. Also to promote the Trust’s “How Safe Do You Feel” Domestic Abuse routine enquiry campaign.

The Specialist Domestic Abuse/Safeguarding
Adult Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS)
· To provide expert, trauma‑informed clinical leadership and specialist nursing advice on domestic abuse (DA) and adult safeguarding across the Trust, ensuring safe, lawful and person‑centred responses for adults at risk, including those with care and support needs.
· To act as the Trust’s domestic abuse clinical lead, strengthening pathways, policies and training, and ensuring compliance with the Care Act 2014, Domestic Abuse Act 2021, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Human Rights Act 1998, NMC Code of Practice and CQC Regulations.
· To deliver high‑quality case consultation, risk assessment, and care planning; coordinate and contribute to MARAC, and support staff through supervision and reflective practice.
· To drive quality improvement, data reporting and assurance for DA‑related safeguarding, supporting the Trust’s statutory duties and patient safety priorities.
· Provide timely advice to ED, wards, outpatients and community teams including discreet disclosure techniques and safe discharge planning.

1 and group) and reflective practice, with attention to vicarious trauma and staff wellbeing.
· Mentor and coach champions and link roles across divisions.
