Our client, a highly reputable Special Needs school located in the E17 or E13 area, is seeking an exceptional and experienced educator to join their dedicated leadership team as a Full-time Deputy Headteacher. As the Deputy Headteacher, you will be responsible for working closely with the Headteacher to provide strong, visionary leadership and ensure the successful implementation of our school's strategic objectives. You will play a pivotal role in driving academic excellence, fostering a positive and inclusive school culture, and championing the wellbeing of both our students and staff.
Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to
- Collaborating with the Headteacher and teaching staff to develop and implement a robust, engaging, and evidence-based curriculum that meets the diverse needs of our students.
- Overseeing the assessment and tracking of student progress, ensuring that data is used effectively to inform teaching and learning.
- Providing guidance and support to teachers in the use of assessment tools and the analysis of data to enhance classroom practice.
- Identifying and implementing strategies to address any gaps in student attainment and progress, with a focus on fostering continuous improvement.
- Modelling excellent teaching practice and supporting the professional development of teaching staff through coaching, mentoring, and the provision of high-quality training opportunities.
- Monitoring and evaluating the quality of teaching and learning across the school, and providing feedback to teachers to drive improvement.
- Establishing and maintaining a culture of reflective practice, where staff are empowered to innovate, collaborate, and share best practices.
- Promoting the use of technology and digital resources to enhance the learning experience and prepare our students for the challenges of the 21st century.
- Ensuring the highest standards of student behaviour and conduct, in line with the school's policies and ethos.
- Overseeing the implementation of effective behaviour management strategies, and supporting teachers in managing challenging behaviours.
- Championing the emotional and mental wellbeing of our students, and working closely with pastoral teams to provide tailored support and interventions.
- Fostering a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where all students feel valued, respected, and empowered to reach their full potential.
- Collaborating with the Headteacher to set the strategic vision and direction for the school, and aligning all activities and initiatives to support the achievement of our goals.
- Deputising for the Headteacher in their absence, and representing the school at various stakeholder meetings and events.
- Effectively managing and deploying human and financial resources to ensure the efficient and sustainable operation of the school.
- Fostering a positive and collaborative working environment, where staff feel supported, engaged, and empowered to contribute to the school's success.
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications, skills, and experience
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Successful teaching experience, ideally in a primary school setting
- Proven experience in a senior leadership role, such as Assistant Headteacher or Deputy Headteacher
- A postgraduate qualification in education, such as a Master's degree or a National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership (NPQSL)
- A deep understanding of the national curriculum and assessment frameworks, as well as current trends and best practices in primary education
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, parents, and the wider community
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the capacity to think strategically and make informed, evidence-based decisions
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively and manage multiple competing priorities
- A proven track record of leading and motivating teams, fostering a positive and collaborative working environment
- A commitment to continuous professional development and a passion for lifelong learning
- A strong moral compass and a dedication to promoting the welfare and best interests of all students
In return for your hard work and dedication, our client is offering a competitive salary range of £60,000 to £80,000 per annum, depending on your qualifications and experience.
