An exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher to join a secondary school as Head of Year, leading pastoral care, improving behaviour and driving student achievement across a year group.

About the role

You will provide strong pastoral leadership for a designated year group, ensuring excellent behaviour, attendance and academic progress. The role involves working closely with senior leaders, subject staff and tutors to implement effective strategies, track progress and support students. You will play a key part in developing a positive school culture and raising standards across the year group.

We're looking for a dedicated candidate to

  • Lead and manage a year group to achieve high standards
  • Monitor behaviour, attendance and student progress
  • Support and coach tutors within the year team
  • Work closely with senior leadership on whole school priorities
  • Implement and evaluate strategies to improve student outcomes
  • Build positive relationships with students, staff and parents

Requirements -

The ideal candidate would have

  • Qualified teacher status and a relevant degree
  • Proven teaching experience with strong classroom management
  • Experience working within a secondary school setting
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills
  • Ability to drive improvement and support student progress
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and inclusion
