About this role
Our client, a well-established and highly regarded educational institution based in East London, is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Full-Time PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties) Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team. This is a rewarding opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the development and wellbeing of students with complex needs within a supportive and inclusive environment.
In this role, you will provide tailored support to students with profound and multiple learning difficulties, assisting with both their educational and personal care needs. Responsibilities will include supporting daily activities such as feeding and personal care, as well as encouraging participation in learning and recreational tasks. Your contribution will play a key role in helping students achieve their individual goals and reach their full potential.
You will work closely with teaching staff, therapists, families, and the wider school community to deliver a holistic and personalised approach to each student's development. Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and empathy will be essential in building positive relationships and fostering a nurturing learning environment.
This position offers the chance to make a genuine impact, with responsibilities including implementing individual learning plans, providing one-to-one support, and adapting approaches to suit each student's unique needs.

Requirements
Experience
- Previous experience working with students with PMLD or similar complex needs
Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Effective problem-solving and adaptability
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to supporting students with additional needs
Qualifications
- A relevant qualification, such as a Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent)
- A valid Enhanced DBS check
