Our client, a leading educational institution in the West Drayton area of Greater London, is seeking an exceptional Full-time Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their dedicated team.

In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality support and intervention to students with a wide range of learning needs and disabilities. Based in a vibrant and inclusive environment, you will work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to develop and implement tailored learning strategies that empower students to reach their full potential.

The successful candidate will possess a strong background in SEND education, with a deep understanding of the diverse needs of students and the ability to adapt teaching methods accordingly. You will have excellent communication skills, allowing you to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. Additionally, you will demonstrate a passion for creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment, where every student feels supported and valued.

  • Providing targeted support and interventions to students with SEND, in both one-to-one and small group settings
  • Collaborating with teachers to plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students
  • Monitoring and assessing student progress, and adjusting support strategies accordingly
  • Maintaining detailed records and contributing to the development of Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs)
  • Supporting the integration of assistive technologies and other resources to enhance the learning experience
  • Fostering a positive, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment that promotes student wellbeing and confidence
  • Relevant SEND or HLTA qualification, or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrable experience working with students with a range of SEND, including cognitive, physical, and social-emotional needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and a desire to stay up-to-date with best practices in SEND education
