We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our growing Capital Projects team, providing cost management and commercial support across a portfolio of projects delivered under NEC4 contracts.​

This role is pivotal in ensuring robust financial control, compliance, and value delivery throughout the full project lifecycle.

Job Description

We are looking for a commercially astute professional who will implement and sustain high standards of cost management, enhancing ISS’s position within the project market and supporting growth within the contract.​

The role requires close collaboration with project teams, clients, and suppliers to ensure consistent and high-quality commercial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver end-to-end cost management across multiple capital projects operating under NEC4 contracts, ensuring financial control throughout the project lifecycle.

Prepare, manage, and report project budgets, forecasts, cost plans, CVRs, and P&L performance against agreed targets.

Administer NEC4 contracts, ensuring full compliance, proactive risk identification, and effective commercial risk mitigation.

Manage tendering and procurement activities, including preparation of tender documentation, bid evaluation, cost analysis, and negotiation with suppliers and subcontractors.

Oversee subcontractor contract management, including procurement, performance monitoring, and commercial compliance.

Review and certify applications for payment and prepare accurate and timely interim and final valuations.

Manage change control processes, including variations, compensation events, and claims, maintaining clear records of financial impact.

Provide clear commercial advice, reporting, and stakeholder engagement, working collaboratively with project managers, clients, senior management, and the ISS UK&I Government Projects Division.

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

Degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.

Post-qualification experience operating as a Quantity Surveyor.

Experience within the Construction or FM industry (Government, Corporate, or Education sectors preferred).

Strong working knowledge of NEC4 contract administration.

Proven expertise in cost management, tendering, and procurement.

Experience with applications for payment, valuations, and risk management.

Demonstrable experience managing concurrent projects or programmes with a combined annual value of £5m+.

Experience estimating project costs and producing high-quality tender evaluation documentation.

Proven experience in change management, including compensation events and claims.

Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.

Strong Microsoft Office capability, including advanced Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, etc.).

Proficiency in Coupa (or equivalent cost management systems).

Full UK driving licence, with the ability to travel to project sites as required.
