Key Responsibilities

Provide safe, efficient, and effective outpatient pharmacy services. Act as the Responsible Pharmacist, ensuring compliance with GPhC and DoH requirements. Lead and support pharmacy staff, serving as a role model for excellence. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with prescribers and clinical teams. Contribute to clinical services, medicines management, and operational efficiency. Work collaboratively with the Pharmacy Manager and Superintendent Pharmacist.

Shift Pattern

Based at Kings College Hospital London. Our opening times are Monday - Friday 8am - 9pm, Weekends and Bank Holidays 9am - 5pm. Working hours are 37.5 hours per week to meet the needs of the Business on a Rota basis.

Skills

The ideal candidate will bring excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, with a proven ability to communicate effectively across professional boundaries. They will demonstrate the capacity to influence stakeholders and colleagues without direct managerial authority, building consensus and driving outcomes through collaboration and credibility. A self-starter by nature, they will show strong initiative, the ability to prioritise competing demands, and effective time management. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is essential. Above all, we are looking for someone who leads with vision, enthusiasm, and innovation, inspiring those around them and consistently bringing fresh thinking to the role.

Qualifications

Candidates must hold current registration as a pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council. An advanced clinical qualification, postgraduate credential, or a minimum of 18 months' equivalent clinical experience is required. Applicants should have broad experience across a variety of pharmacy settings and roles, including involvement in temporary or day-to-day management responsibilities. Experience contributing to or leading the development of a new business, organisation, or team is highly desirable. The successful candidate will be highly self-motivated, with the ability to organise and prioritise their own workload, translate ideas into practice, and demonstrate a pragmatic, methodical, and resilient approach to their work.
