About this role
The clinical post will involve working under supervision of the consultants within the Sarcoma medical oncology team who are solely based in Chelsea and the multidisciplinary teams in the Sarcoma Unit to deliver services to patients, develop translational research and initiate new clinical trials in Sarcoma. Supervision for the Lymphoma patients will be through the Lymphoma medical oncology team.
- To contribute to the provision of a comprehensive, efficient and high quality evidence- based oncology care, under the supervision of the consultants. This includes out- patient clinics (both follow-up and new patients), systemic anti-cancer prescribing clinics, research clinics and in-patient care
- To develop competence in systemic anti-cancer therapy prescribing. Support and training will be provided in this if the post-holder has no prior experience of this
- To develop a comprehensive knowledge of the evidence base for the treatment of Sarcomas and Lymphomas, to understand how to develop a treatment plan and manage patients on systemic anti-cancer treatment including the development of advanced clinical reasoning skills. The post holder will gain considerable experience in the management of patients with a broad range of rare and uncommon cancers
