We are working in partnership with a welcoming primary school in Harrow to recruit a knowledgeable and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support Year 6 pupils from September 2026.

This role is centred around targeted small-group intervention work, supporting pupils across three Year 6 classes to strengthen their confidence and consistency in English and Maths ahead of their transition to secondary school.

The school welcomes applications from candidates holding a Level 4 HLTA qualification, as well as experienced upper KS2 Teaching Assistants with a strong background in delivering interventions and supporting pupil progress.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead focused small-group learning sessions for targeted Year 6 pupils
  • Provide additional support in English and Maths to help reinforce core learning
  • Encourage pupil confidence, independence, and active classroom participation
  • Work collaboratively with Year 6 teachers to identify and address areas for development
  • Deliver engaging activities that support literacy and numeracy progress
  • Promote positive study habits and effective learning routines
  • Monitor pupil engagement and provide feedback on progress to teaching staff

This role would suit someone who is passionate about helping pupils make meaningful academic progress through targeted support, encouragement, and strong relationship-building.
