NEL CRDC Finance and Costing Officer - Band 6

We are seeking a motivated and highly organised Finance and Costing Officer to join our dynamic Research Finance Team. In this role, you will provide costing and financial support to help drive the growth of our commercial research portfolio across Barts Health and the North East London Commercial Research Delivery Centre (NEL CRDC). You will play key role in in financial oversight and costings of commercial trials, ensuring high-quality finance management and smooth day-to-day

operations across the three partner organisations collaborating in this flagship projects.

You will have excellent organisational and administrative skills, with proven experience of working collaboratively with a range of professionals. You will be proficient in the use of Microsoft 365

packages, including the use of Excel for data manipulation and analysis. You will have a strong experience of commercial costings, NCVR process and able to produce clear, insightful reports. Strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to build positive working relationships

across diverse teams and organisations, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential for this role.

The post holder will work with the JRMO Barts Health R&D Finance team, responsible for all aspects of grant and project research finance administration, working with the various research teams/grant research budget holders in the Trust, Queen Mary University (Academic Partner) and other research organisations.

The post holder will actively support the JRMO Barts Health R&D Finance Team with all aspects of financial management for the Northeast London Commercial Research Delivery Centre (NEL CRDC), being responsible for resolving all related account finance queries in the CRDC.

The post holder will manage the NEL CRDC NIHR grant award and commercial research portfolio. They will be responsible for populating accurate and timely grant financial returns reports and reconciliations for income and expenditure ensuring awarded grant funds are spent in line with the research grant agreements and funders’ terms and conditions.

The post holder will be responsible for managing all commercial research income (including but not limited to invoicing and distributions) relating to NEL CRDC activity ensuring that the Trust appropriate income distribution in compliance with funder’s due diligence requirements.

The post holder will be responsible for month end and year end closure with support from the JRMO Barts Health R&D Finance Team and maintain the research grants’ transactional records on the Trust finance systems.
