We are seeking an experienced Senior Social and Environmental Business Partner to lead sustainability strategy, delivery, and innovation across our Healthcare sector.

In this role, you will act as the sector expert, driving social value and environmental performance, shaping best practice, and partnering with key internal and external stakeholders to maximise impact.

Job Description

With national scope, this is a high-influence role suited to someone who combines deep sustainability expertise with strong collaboration, communication, and project leadership skills.​

You will shape strategic direction while translating sustainability objectives into practical operational delivery, working closely with operational and functional teams to ensure sustainability commitments are consistently achieved in line with client, contractual, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Act as the Social and Environmental Sustainability subject matter expert for the healthcare sector within ISS UK&I

Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of sector-wide sustainability programmes

Drive sustainability strategy across areas including carbon reduction, waste management, and social value

Ensure consistent delivery of sustainability initiatives and best practice across healthcare contracts

Manage sustainability plans, including performance monitoring, data analysis, and reporting

Support operational teams in achieving sustainability KPIs, targets, and contractual commitments

Build strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and healthcare sector partners

Promote innovation, continuous improvement, and awareness of emerging legislation and market trends

Travel nationally to meet stakeholders and support programme delivery

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

Significant experience within sustainability and/or social value roles

Proven experience delivering environmental and social impact programmes

Experience working within healthcare or government contracts is desirable

Knowledge of the facilities management or built environment sector is preferred

Strong understanding of sustainability frameworks and environmental topics, including carbon, energy, water, waste, and biodiversity

Good knowledge of UK sustainability legislation, regulations, and industry trends

Ability to translate technical sustainability concepts into practical operational solutions

Strong analytical, reporting, project, and programme management skills

Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills

Full UK driving licence with willingness to travel nationally to healthcare client sites
