About the Radiotherapy Service

Based at the internationally renowned St Bartholomew’s Hospital in the heart of the City of London, our radiotherapy department offers a dynamic and forward-thinking environment where you’ll have the opportunity to work with advanced techniques and the latest innovations in cancer treatment.

Our current equipment includes

· Five Varian TrueBeam linacs(two with 6DoF couch, with an ongoing fleet upgrade to Hypersight, RapidArc Dynamic and SGRT planned throughout 2026).

· XStrahl orthovoltage,Bravos HDR and Papillion contact brachytherapyintergraded onto the Radiotherapy ARIA network.

· Siemens Somatom Confidence CTfor pre-treatment imaging andVarian Eclipse TPSfor treatment planning.

We deliver a wide range of advanced techniques, including IMRT, IGRT, TBI, DIBH, SABR, ART, stereotactic radiosurgery (HyperArc) and gynaecological brachytherapy.

The Role

We are seeking enthusiastic and motivatedBand 5 Therapeutic Radiographerto join our team. This is a rotational post covering all areas of the department, including pre-treatment imaging, treatment delivery and brachytherapy

The post holder will be expected to play a key role in the delivery of an exceptional service within the Radiotherapy Department for common cancers and specialist tretaments including

cranial and extra-cranial sterotactic and total body irradiation.

The post holder will be part of the team of Therapeutic Radiographers providing care for patients, ensuring the provision of a high quality, patient-focussed service.

The post holder will deliver radiotherapy treatments on complex and state of the art equipment along with colleagues and members of the multi-disciplinary team.

The post holder will be an operator as defined by IR(ME)R and will be expected to comply fully with the accredited Radiotherapy Department Quality System and the HCPC Radiographers Professional Code of Conduct.
